This page lists the cookies and other data that the Free Micro Games website stores in your browser, what they are used for and how long they are kept.
Cookies and local storage
A cookie is a small file that a website places in your browser. The website also uses the browser's local storage (localStorage) and a service worker, which work in the same way: the data stays on your device.
Your choice
On your first visit, a banner asks you to accept or reject audience measurement cookies (Google Analytics) and advertising cookies (Google AdSense), with two buttons of the same size. Rejecting them does not stop you from playing. Your choice is kept for 6 months, after which the banner is shown to you again. You can change it at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. Children under 15 should make this choice with a parent.
The website uses Google's consent mode (Consent Mode v2). By default, everything is denied: advertising storage (ad_storage), sending advertising data (ad_user_data), ad personalisation (ad_personalization) and audience measurement (analytics_storage). If you accept, ad_storage, ad_user_data and analytics_storage switch to “granted”. Ad personalisation (ad_personalization) always remains denied. Google Analytics is only loaded after you accept: if you have not chosen yet or if you reject, no data is sent to it. If you reject after having accepted, the website's Google Analytics and Google AdSense cookies are deleted.

This data is necessary for the website to work or for a service you request. It is never used for advertising and does not require your consent.

Google Analytics audience measurement (only with your consent)
If you accept cookies, the website uses Google Analytics 4 to count its visits: pages viewed, games started, votes (for, against or cancelled), type of device, browser, country and approximate city. These statistics are only used to find out which games people enjoy and to improve the website, never for advertising: Google Signals and ad personalisation signals are disabled. Google Analytics does not store your IP address.

Google AdSense advertising (only with your consent)
These cookies are only set if an advertisement is displayed (at the bottom of the home page) and you have accepted cookies. The ads remain non-personalised and are requested with child-directed treatment: these cookies are used to limit how many times the same ad is shown, to count the ads viewed and to prevent fraud, never to target you.

Deleting this data
You can delete the website's cookies and data at any time in your browser settings (under “Privacy” or “Site data”). Your votes stored on the device, your progress and the games kept for offline play will then be lost.
