About the game
In the valley, the Shadowlings, little mischievous shadows, march toward the fortress to put out its lanterns. To stop them, you build towers of light beside the path: the Firefly, the Frost Mushroom, the Burst Flower and the Lighthouse. Every shadow that gets enough light turns back into a firefly. The journey crosses three maps, the Meadow, the Marsh and the Mountain, where two paths meet. Almost every level brings something new with a short animated scene: a very fast Sneaky Shadowling, a flying Shadow Butterfly, a shadowling that splits in two, a Healer Shadowling. The Great Shadow, a very tough giant, arrives in level 10, and the Shadow King waits for you in level 15 for the final battle. The real fun is finding the right spot for each tower.
How to play
Tap or click a grass square near the path, pick a tower, then start the wave; tap a tower to upgrade or sell it. On the keyboard: arrows to move, Enter to pick the square, 1 to 4 to build, A to upgrade, V to sell, Space for the wave, L for the Moonburst, Escape to pause. Each shadow you stop gives you light, and a wave started early gives 15 more. Each shadow that reaches the fortress puts out at least one of its 10 lanterns: keep them all lit for 3 stars, at least 5 for 2 stars. If they all go out, you lose the level. Over the 15 levels, new towers, new shadows and the Moonburst arrive.
