About the game
A little elf in a red hood heads down into the caves of Brumefer with a lantern. The lantern only lights up a few squares: the rest of the cave appears as you move, and a mini-map remembers what you have already seen. The caves change every game. They hide gems in five colors, potions, keys, chests and swords, along with the Mistlings, creatures made of mist: the slow slime, the bat that flies around a bit at random, the mushroom that often guards a key, the spitting toad and the will-o’-wisp that goes through walls. On the tenth floor, the Guardian of Brumefer watches over the Crystal. Since everything happens turn by turn, you have time to think before each step.
How to play
Your goal: find the stairs down to the next floor. Swipe on the cave, tap an arrow on the screen or use the arrow keys (or WASD, ZQSD): the elf moves one square, then the Mistlings take their turn. To hit a Mistling, walk into it. To wait one turn, tap the hourglass or press Space. The potion button (or P) gives back 2 hearts, the scroll button (or L) shows the whole cave. Each floor gives up to 3 stars: the exit, all the gems, and losing one heart at most (three against the Guardian). Out of hearts, the elf is worn out: try the floor again. Each of the 10 floors adds something new. After the Guardian, The Depths go on forever.
