Which way leads to the exit? That's the whole question. You guide a character or a marble through a tangle of corridors, avoiding dead ends, sometimes picking up objects or opening doors with the right key. As the levels go on, the paths usually get more complicated. Looking at the map before rushing in often saves time: that's the whole point of these games, which train your sense of direction, planning and patience. Small mazes are within reach of 4- and 5-year-olds; big winding mazes are more for explorers aged 8 and up. For the very young, tracing the path with a finger first, without playing, helps them think ahead.
