Platform games

Your character runs, jumps and climbs through a world full of obstacles. The goal: reach the end of the level without falling into gaps or touching traps, collecting shiny things along the way. It's all about timing. Jump too early or too late, and you have to start over, a little smarter than the time before. Attempt after attempt, your moves become more precise, you learn to anticipate and you discover what it means to persevere. These games often appeal from age 6 or 7, when handling several controls at once comes easily. Missing a jump is part of the game: every fall teaches you where to put your feet next time.
